Motu Picnic Lagoon Tours (Motu Fareone & Tiahura)
17° 29.4′ S · 149° 55.1′ W
Half- and full-day lagoon boat tours that run crews out to the stingray sandbank, the Tiki sculptures and a picnic on the twin motus of Fareone and Tiahura off Moorea's northwest point, with fresh fish and fruit served on the beach.
Practical
Position is Motu Fareone (OSM way). Wikivoyage recommends Hiro's Tour (from the Club Bali Hai area), which includes the stingray stop and a motu picnic, and Tuatini Activities (motu transfers with picnic, motu and fare rental, glass-bottom boat); prices not published, verify locally. Wikivoyage still describes shark and stingray feeding on Hiro's Tour, but the 2026 Service du Tourisme brief states shark feeding is prohibited, so expect observation only. The channel between Fareone and Tiahura is a strong-current drift snorkel; Coco Beach on Motu Tiahura serves lunch. Yacht crews can do all of this by dinghy from the Papetoai or Tiahura anchorages; a tour is worth it for the picnic and local guiding.
Best for
A motu picnic without moving the boat
