L'Atlantide & Les Éboulis (Taina lagoon)

17° 35.0′ S · 149° 37.2′ W

Shallow lagoon dives in the middle of the Taina mooring field: L'Atlantide is a high bottom with plate corals and an old coral-grafting table, sloping to 20 m.

Practical

Coordinates are Eleuthera's 'L'Atlantide'. 'Les Éboulis' (-17.58132, -149.62276) explores the channel bottom and shallows between lagoon and reef, with stonefish, scorpionfish and firefish almost always present and good night dives; 'Vallée des Âmes' (-17.57942, -149.62366) is a sandy slope to 20 m with clownfish and parrotfish (Eleuthera). The sites are among moored boats and beside the Faa'a channel: dive only with an operator and a flag, never from a yacht in the zone (no swimming or diving inside mooring zones under the 2020 Faa'a/Punaauia rules).
