Yellow Dog Dive Site (Anse Amyot, Toau)
15° 47.5′ S · 146° 8.7′ W
Rated by Soggy Paws the best dive at Anse Amyot: deep sand canyons cut into the wall about 50 m east of the old dive buoy, starting at 9 m and dropping over the edge.
Practical
Position 15°47.468'S 146°08.698'W (Soggy Paws 2010), along the ocean wall NE of the false pass. The dive buoy that once marked it is gone (2018), so drift or anchor the dinghy carefully on sand. Start at about 9 m and go over the wall; the 2003 Hacking family dive half a mile north of the anchorage found coral covering almost the entire wall, over 30 m visibility, morays, groupers and big tuna. Best in E to S winds. No dive services on Toau.
