Anse Amyot Fuel and Water (Toau)
15° 48.1′ S · 146° 9.1′ W · approximate
There is no fuel dock on Toau. Gaston and Valentine collect rainwater in cisterns and can sometimes spare some for boats in real need.
Practical
Approximate position: the family compound on Motu Matariva (Varua Hotspot coverage point). Fuel: as of Nov 2020 the supply ship no longer calls at Toau and fuel is not available; locals appreciate it if you bring extra jerry cans to sell or give (Sugar Shack). Earlier reports (2013) of diesel from the Cobia 3 supply ship or Gaston's barrels are outdated. Arrive with full tanks from Fakarava or Rangiroa. Water: rainwater from the cisterns when they have surplus; in a drought they need it too, so ask, never assume. Gaston has historically let cruisers use a covered shed for dirty jobs like outboard repair (ask first). No provisioning beyond occasional garden produce.
