Tubuai Lychee Raid (November)

23° 20.7′ S · 149° 29.2′ W · approximate

Every November Tubuai holds the 'Raid Litchis', a trail-running race over the island's mountains including Mont Taitaa, named for the lychees the island is famous for.

Practical

Coordinate is the Mataura mairie (approximate venue); ask there for dates. Categories: young, fun, veteran and elite (Tahiti Tourisme). The race's red arrows stay on the trails all year and help hikers (Pitufa). Lychees are exported to the other islands in December. November is a good month to visit the Australs, warm but early in the cyclone season (Pitufa).
