Rikitea Coral Garden Snorkel

A coral garden just outside the Rikitea anchorage where large, unafraid reef fish crowd the heads. They are big because nobody eats them: Gambier fish carry ciguatera.
Practical
approx: the pin is on the reef edge east of the northern anchorage. Pitufa gives no exact position, so look for the reef by eye in good light. Dinghy over and anchor the dinghy on sand only. Do not touch the coral. Watch for local boat traffic near the channel. Lagoon fish here are high-risk for ciguatera, so look but do not eat.
