False Pass Anchorage (Totegegie South)
23° 6.0′ S · 134° 52.4′ W
A sandy spot just north of the 'false pass' between Totegegie and Tarauru Roa, with good holding and a short dinghy ride to the Gambier's best shark snorkel.
Practical
Coordinate from Sugar Shack (March 2020): 3.9 m of sand, good holding, comfortable in SE winds. In Jan 2021 they used 23 deg 06.028'S 134 deg 52.432'W in 4 m, floating the chain at the 15 m mark and adding the bridle at 25 m. A broad shallow area of 2.8-5 m lies between the false pass and Aukena, so cross it with care.
