The Commune's big steel launch Tokani ferries passengers across the lagoon between Rikitea's main dock and the airport on Totegegie motu, about 9 km away.

Coordinate is Totegegie Airport (GMR/NTGJ, Wikipedia). The boat leaves from Rikitea's main dock. The fare was 1,000 XPF per person each way (2021, verify locally). Air Tahiti flights ran 1-2 times a week, every Tuesday and sometimes Saturday, with extra flights around school holidays (2020-2021). The Air Tahiti office is south of the dock past the gendarmerie, before St Michael: +689 40 86 42 42, open Mon, Wed and Fri 9:30-11:30 am (Jan-Apr 2021). To save guests the fare and the ferry, anchor off Totegegie and meet them by dinghy. Walking on or near the runway is illegal.
