An outer-reef wall off Tubuai whose top lies at 8 m and falls to 45 m, with an underwater cave entrance at about 20 m that divers can explore.
Practical
Approximate position: a representative outer-reef point just seaward of the NW pass (Passe Te Ara Moana), where boats from Mataura exit the lagoon; neither Tahiti Tourisme nor the club publishes the site's position, so book with Tubuai Plongee (tubuaiplongee@outlook.com, +689 87 275 251) or ask them where it is. Advanced-level depths: the cave is at about 20 m. Water is cool for the tropics, and the club supplies 5 mm wetsuits and hooded vests (club site, 2026). Club dives are closed 20 August to 24 October 2026 for the whale season. Whale outings cost 12,000 XPF per person, half-day (2026 tarifs).
