Anaho to Hatiheu Hike
8° 49.6′ S · 140° 4.4′ W · approximate
A steep path up and over the western ridge from Anaho to Hatiheu village, its archaeological sites and lunch at Chez Yvonne; about 2.5 hours return.
Practical
Position approx: plotted on the ridge midway between the Anaho anchorage and Hatiheu village. Start early: it gets hot. The return is easier than the outbound climb (2017). Combine with Kamuihei and Hikokua for a full day. The Anaho farmer also rides produce to Hatiheu weekly by horse (2015).
Best for
Reaching Hatiheu's sites without anchoring in its rolly bay
