A makatea cave just south of Moerai, reached by a short path up from the coast road before the Pointe Arei lookout: an easy first taste of Rurutu's stalactite caves.

Short walk south from Moerai on the main road; the path to the cave leaves the road just before the Pointe Arei lookout. Pitufa's 2-hour loop: carry on past Pension Manotel, take a dirt road up onto the plateau and loop back to Moerai. Free access (Tahiti Tourisme lists it as 'Grotte Tane'Ua Poto'). Bring a torch.
