Pučišća (Brač)

43° 21.6′ N · 16° 44.3′ E

A long, narrow harbour on Brač's north coast, home of the island's stonemasons. White Brač stone from the quarries here went into palaces in Split and beyond, and students still learn to carve by hand at the school founded in 1909.

Practical

Coordinate is the OSM bay node 'Luka Pučišće'. About 20 berths with water and power near the church and on the newer Riva. Good shelter from everything except strong north or north-east winds: do not come here if bura is forecast. Shops, cafes and konobas in the village. Visitors can watch the students at the stonemasonry school.

Best for

A quiet stone-built village night

Season

May-Oct; avoid in bura
