Anchorage· Lokrum· Croatia — Dalmatia
Portoč, Lokrum (day anchorage)
42° 37.6′ N · 18° 7.5′ E · approximate
The small bay at Lokrum's ferry landing on the north-east side, facing the city. A possible lunch stop in settled weather, but it is busy with the ferry and it is not an overnight anchorage.
Practical
Coordinate is approximate, in the bay off the Lokrum ferry landing. Anchor clear of the ferry route in about 5–12 m; the pier is reserved for the ferries and excursion boats, and you must not tie lines to the island. A shoal lies off the south-east side and shallows about 30 m east of Bijela Seka point. Open to N and NE winds, so leave if the bura sets in. The channel between Lokrum and the Old Town is in the UNESCO buffer zone where yacht passage and mooring is meant to be restricted, and boaters have reported being charged to anchor off Lokrum; check with Dubrovnik harbourmaster (VHF 10) before you go. Landing is not allowed before the reserve opens. No overnight stay. Pay the reserve fee at the Forester's House.
