Position: Mini Market on Avenida Malecón as mapped on OpenStreetMap; MiniMarket Central Samaná is at 19.20413, -69.34153 and the larger Supermercado with the produce market across the street is at about 19.2049, -69.3433 (see Samaná Market & Supermarket). The Virgintino guide (~2015) notes the bank ATMs are directly opposite the main jetty where you leave the dinghy. Buy 5-gallon jugs of purified water rather than relying on tap water. Lock the dinghy: the guide warns of dinghy and outboard theft at this anchorage.
