Portobelo has enough small supermarkets, bakeries and produce trucks to stock up before the San Blas, with buses to the big Rey supermarket at Sabanitas for a full provision.

Coordinate: Mini Super Casa Mock in OpenStreetMap (node 4745666621); OpenStreetMap also maps bakeries (Panadería Alejandro, Antonella, Trigos y Pan), a café-bakery and a health centre along the main road. Noonsite (Aug 2016): five Chinese mini-supermarkets with chicken, meat, liquor and dry goods (some give cash back on cards), two or three produce trucks a day at low prices, a Colombian and an Italian bakery, a laundry with wash-dry-fold on the square, a pharmacy, two health centres, fuel and propane in town. Spirit of Argo (2016): bus to Sabanitas $1.75 each way, pay on exit with small bills, buses every 15 minutes or so; taxi back from Rey with groceries about $20, or pre-book a round-trip driver (about $30). Prices older than 2024: verify locally.
