Port Antonio Port of Entry
18° 11.6′ N · 76° 27.6′ W
Official port of entry at Jamaica's northeast corner, the natural landfall for boats arriving from the Windward Passage or Haiti. Officials come to you at the marina.
Practical
Position is Noonsite's port-of-entry map point. Arrive under the Q flag and report on arrival; Jamaica requires Quarantine (Health), Immigration and Customs. No fees 9 am-4 pm Monday to Friday; overtime outside those hours (Noonsite 2026). A 2015 boat arriving after 5 pm was cleared without charge the next day. Customs issues a transire for each onward port: you must report to Customs at every port you stop at (Virgintino; a 2018 Noonsite report of near-fines when boats lacked the 'Customs Transire' and 'Coastwise Clearance' forms). Cruising permit: US$150 for 6 months (2023); a US-flagged boat was charged US$300 for a year via the online system and refunded (February 2025) - verify. Animals may not go ashore. Port Antonio harbour is a no-discharge zone. Fly a Jamaican courtesy flag after clearing.
