Ponce Harbor Anchorage

17° 57.9′ N · 66° 37.4′ W

The anchorage outside the Ponce Yacht & Fishing Club basin, in a very well protected harbor a taxi ride from Ponce's historic center.

Practical

Position 17°57.89N 66°37.35W (just north of red nun #6) from the Virgintino PR guide (~2015). Average anchoring depth about 30 ft over mud: holding fair to good with plenty of scope. If crowded or noisy (weekends), go north above the charted turning basin, which is usually empty. Coming from the west, pass Isla de Ratones and Cayo Arenas to the SOUTH: do not go between them or between Cayo Arenas and the mainland. Isla de Cardona light (Fl W 4s, 46 ft, 8 M) at 17°57.40N 66°38.10W helps at night.
