La Guancha Boardwalk (Ponce)

17° 57.9′ N · 66° 36.9′ W

Ponce's seafront boardwalk beside the yacht club: food kiosks, bars, music and weekend crowds, plus the ferry to Caja de Muertos.

Practical

Coordinates from Wikipedia (Paseo Tablado La Guancha). Inaugurated in 1998, the boardwalk is part of the Complejo Recreativo y Cultural La Guancha, with a lookout tower at one end and kiosks selling food and drinks (Wikipedia; our sources do not name individual kiosks). The ferry to Caja de Muertos (about 45 minutes) leaves from here; Wikivoyage lists it as weekends only. Wikivoyage noted the boardwalk temporarily closed after the January 2020 earthquakes: check it has reopened. The Virgintino guide (~2015) warns the music can go loud until 3am at weekends: anchor further north above the turning basin if you need sleep. The small Caribbean Images Marina adjacent is also the CBP-listed Ponce inspection site.
