Practical

Position approx: middle of the strip (El Balcón del Capitán, OSM 17.96124, -66.29948); all names and hours below are as mapped on OpenStreetMap (verify locally). Along the water: La Barkita (Puerto Rican and seafood, bar; Monday to Thursday 8am to 10pm, Friday to Sunday 9am to 10pm; +1 787-824-4918), El Timón Seafood (Thursday 3pm to 11:45pm, Friday 4pm to midnight, Saturday noon to midnight, Sunday noon to 9pm), El Cazador (Friday to Sunday 11am to 8pm), Blue Marlin Restaurant, El Balcón del Capitán (Monday to Saturday 11am to 9:30pm, Sunday 11am to 9pm), Rest El Roble, Puerta al Sol (Wednesday 11am to 8pm, Thursday 10am to 8pm, Friday to Sunday 11am to 9pm), El Pescador (Monday to Wednesday 11am to 7pm, Thursday to Sunday 11am to 9pm), Costa 701 Parrilla y Cantina (Wednesday to Sunday 8am to 10pm) and the weekend kiosks El Kioskito Mio and La Casa de las Empanadillas (Friday to Sunday 10am to 4pm). The Virgintino PR guide calls the restaurants here good and reasonably priced but very crowded at weekends and on holidays. Many close early in the week, so Monday to Wednesday choices are thinner. Away from the water, the Portobello Town Center plaza (OSM, about 17.9725, -66.2915, roughly 0.8 mile north) has pizza, cafés and a sports bar.
