Palm Beach Day Anchorage (Aruba)
12° 34.0′ N · 70° 3.0′ W · approximate
A day anchorage off the high-rise hotel strip of Palm Beach, reached by the inside route along the shore - swim off the boat and dinghy in for lunch.
Practical
From Manchebo Point stay close inshore outside the swim-buffer buoys and anchor off the RIU hotels in about 4 m (14 ft); keep at least 3.6 m (12 ft) of water near the hotels (Aruba Cruising Guide). A shoal about a quarter mile offshore is mostly 1.8-3 m with spots of 1.2-1.5 m and coral heads. Do not continue north of the Hilton: the channel toward the lighthouse shoals to 1.2 m - go offshore to reach Hadicurari or Malmok. Jet skis (PWCs) are not allowed here, but speedboat traffic is constant. Day use only. Coordinate approx: about 80 m off the OSM shoreline in front of the RIU hotels.
