Marina Zarpar (Boca Chica)

18° 25.5′ N · 69° 36.7′ W

A cruiser-friendly marina tucked behind La Piedra islet and a continuous reef at Boca Chica, 7 miles from Las Américas airport and 12 from Santo Domingo. It is the south coast's best base for maintenance and crew changes.

Practical

Position 18°25.50N 69°36.67W per the marina website; call Marina ZarPar on VHF 5 and they often send a pilot boat (Virgintino guide ~2015). Follow the red/green buoys past the commercial port entrance, turn starboard behind La Piedra, pass the private Club Náutico to port and favor port (sandy shoal). The marina site (2026) lists 125 berths with power and water, free Wi-Fi, laundry, fuel (gasoline and diesel) at the beach dock, a waterfront restaurant, and courtesy rides twice a day to shop in Boca Chica. The guide adds haul-out to 70 tons, rental moorings that include use of the facilities, Immigration on site, and a chandlery half a block west. You may anchor behind La Piedra (south of the yacht club). No anchoring east of the marina off the beach or in the channel. Weekend jet skis and loud beach music.
