The Moorings' Belize charter base, at the Laru Beya boutique resort near the Garifuna village of Seine Bight, about 3 miles north of Placencia village and 2 miles from the airstrip.

Moorings eGuide (2025): reception open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily; charters start at noon and end at 11:00 am; mandatory chart briefings at 9:00 am and 3:00 pm; call the base on VHF 74 about 15 minutes before arriving and a skipper will bring the boat in; last arrivals before 4:30 pm. Showers, restaurant, pool, Wi-Fi and beach at the resort; charcoal grills prohibited in the marina. Bareboats must stay inside the barrier reef, may not sail at night, and need a temporary Belize Certificate of Competency; a local skipper is required beyond the reef. Taxi from the Placencia airstrip about US$3 per person (minimum US$6); Top Value supermarket is about 4 miles away. Base phone 501 523 3351. Position: OpenStreetMap Laru Beya Resort.
