10° 9.7′ N · 75° 47.4′ W

The islet that gave the archipelago its name sits out on the southwest edge of the coral platform, near the Rosario bank, one of the park's reef shoals that is both a navigation hazard and a high-biodiversity dive area.

Practical

OSM position for Isla Rosario. Spanish Wikipedia places Isla Rosario on the southwest periphery and lists the Rosario bank (far west) among the reef shoals that are navigation hazards with high biodiversity. Dive with a licensed operator (Parques Nacionales asks visitors to check a site is authorized). Cartagena dive shops listed by the Club Náutico guide run Rosario trips (Diving Planet, Caribe Dive Shop). Approach only in good light. Conditions (Diving Planet): Rosario dives run 5–40 m with 10–20 m visibility, light to moderate current and about 28 °C (82 °F) water; walls and reef bottoms carry hard and soft coral. Colombia.travel names the Rosarios' wall and reef dives as Cantil Isla Pavitos, Isla Gloria, La Pared, El Canal, El Manglar, El Bajo de las Barracudas and Pargo (10–40 m) - ask the operator which runs on the day; exact positions are not published.
