Deane's Dock (Salt Cay)
21° 19.9′ N · 71° 12.8′ W
Salt Cay's only harbour, a 1896 breakwater-enclosed basin that is the ferry landing, dive-boat base and dinghy landing for Balfour Town.
Practical
Small and tight: dinghies and very small boats only. Watch your footing on the slippery, partly broken concrete breakwater. Coral Reef Bar & Grill fronts the little beach inside; snorkeling off the pier is sheltered. Cannon from HMS Endymion on display. Community ferry runs to Grand Turk. The water off the dock and Balfour Town Beach is usually sheltered and calm for an easy snorkel with reef fish and the occasional stingray or eagle ray (Visit TCI).
Best for
Landing the dinghy
