Cayos Cochinos Moorings (Cayo Grande)
15° 58.4′ N · 86° 29.2′ W · approximate
The visitor moorings off the west side of Cayo Cochino Grande, in a beautiful bay with reefs to snorkel and a jungle trail to the old lighthouse.
Practical
No anchoring is allowed in the reserve. OCC notes (mid-2000s): 6 moorings west of Cochino Grande — 'not overly substantial', adequate in light-to-moderate conditions; water is very deep so tackle is hard to inspect; a light westerly brought a rolly night. Park rangers come out to collect fees (Noonsite cruiser report; amount not stated). Some shore land is private with no-landing signs. Coordinate approximate: west of the OSM Cayo Cochino Mayor island centroid (15.97319, -86.47444).
