Bocas Weather Windows (dry Jan–Apr & Sep–Oct)
9° 15.7′ N · 82° 9.1′ W
Bocas has its own climate: no true dry season, but two drier, calmer windows — roughly January–April and late August–October — while most of Panama is in the rains.
Practical
Coordinate is the archipelago centre (Wikipedia). Dry seasons January–April and late August–October; wet April–August and November–December (Wikipedia). About 3,458 mm of rain a year; driest months October, January and March; highs 28–32 °C year-round (Wikipedia, Bocas Town). September–October brings the calmest seas — the time for Zapatilla, Escudo, Tiger Rock and cave dives (Tourism Panama; Visit Panama). Strong trades and surf December–March; February is the windiest month on Chiriquí Lagoon (Wikipedia). The archipelago lies south of the usual hurricane tracks and boats stay year-round (Noonsite; SAIL). Rainy-season clouds can starve solar panels — cruisers in 2021–22 had to run generators daily (melonthego).
