Big Bight Anchorage (Isla Colón)
9° 21.9′ N · 82° 16.6′ W
A quiet mangrove-lined cove on Isla Colón's sheltered inner shore, rated by cruisers for excellent mud holding and night sounds from the jungle.
Practical
Position is the GeoNames 'Big Bight' cove (09°21'55"N, 082°16'34"W) — sound your way in. Cruiser reviews: excellent holding in mud, good protection from wind and swell; no-see-ums on still nights — screens recommended (noforeignland). Faces Almirante Bay inside the archipelago, so sea state is normally slight. No services; Bocas Town is a long dinghy ride or short sail south-east.
Best for
Calm, solitary night close to town
