Barcadera Customs Dock (Aruba Port of Entry)

12° 28.9′ N · 70° 0.0′ W

The commercial-port wharf at Barcadera where every arriving yacht must tie up first to clear Aruba Immigration and Customs.

Practical

Noonsite (Oranjestad page updated March 2026): Aruba Port Control currently does not allow yachts to clear in at Oranjestad - all vessels must clear in at Barcadera. Call Aruba Port Control on VHF 16/11 for permission before entering. Entry buoy 12°28.834'N 70°00.430'W; customs dock 12°28.855'N 70°00.014'W. The blue freighter that used to mark the shoal is gone - stay in the shipping channel until abeam of the customs dock (Noonsite). Do not anchor anywhere in Aruba before clearing (Noonsite comment). Virgintino (2015): wharf in front of the tanks about 8 ft, the one to the SE about 12 ft, the dock to port of the centre dock 6 ft or less; Immigration first, then Customs within 24 hours. After clearing, Spanish Lagoon/Aruba Nautical Club lies at the south end of the same harbour and Varadero/Bucuti Lagoon and Oranjestad a few miles NW. Coordinate: Noonsite customs-dock position.
