Babylon (North Side)
19° 21.2′ N · 81° 9.9′ W
A coral pinnacle and wall site off the remote North Side, one of the island's signature wall dives and far from the West Bay crowds.
Practical
Position is the DoE public mooring 'Babylon' (2023 GPX), matching Virgintino's 19 21.199N, 081 09.859W (55 ft). Far from any yacht anchorage - a long run east from Rum Point Channel or a dive-boat trip. North-shore site - calm or southerly days only. Marine Park rules apply: use the DoE public mooring (free; white 18- or 24-inch buoy with a yellow stripe and yellow pick-up line; 18-inch for vessels up to 60 ft, 24-inch up to 100 ft; not in 25 knots or more; 3 hours or less; never leave the boat unattended - DoE brochure 2021), never anchor on coral, no take in Marine Parks.
