Arikok National Park

12° 29.9′ N · 69° 56.8′ W

A rugged park covering about a fifth of Aruba: volcanic hills, cactus valleys, the Arawak pictographs of Fontein Cave, the skylit chambers of Guadirikiri Cave and wild windward bays like Boca Prins and Dos Playa.

Practical

Entrance ticket required (fee funds the park and education - check the current amount); ranger-led tours recommended (aruba.com). About 7,900 acres; established 2000; Fontein Cave is gated and visited only with park staff (Wikipedia). Jamanota (188 m) and Arikok (176 m) are the highest hills (Virgintino quoting the park). Boca Prins has turtle nesting and a cafe; Dos Playa is for surfing, not swimming. Coordinate: OpenStreetMap visitor centre.
