Samana Cay offshore fishing
23° 3.6′ N · 73° 45.0′ W · approximate
The deep water around Samana Cay produces what one veteran sport-fishing captain calls some of the best pelagic fishing in the Bahamas: blue, white and hatchet marlin, yellowfin and blackfin tuna, dolphin, wahoo and very large barracuda.
Practical
Position approximate: off the south side of Samana Cay (island centre from OpenStreetMap, offset to the drop-off). A Bahamas fishing permit is required for non-residents (Bahamas Customs: $100 under 50 ft, $300 over 50 ft, valid 30 days). The nearest fuel is at Crooked Island Marina or Flying Fish Marina (Clarence Town), so plan range carefully.
