Pigeon Creek & Snow Bay National Park
23° 58.0′ N · 74° 28.6′ W
San Salvador's only tidal creek - a mangrove and seagrass nursery for Nassau grouper and lobster - next to Snow Bay's powder-soft white beach and the remains of Lucayan villages.
Practical
BNT: the island's most important nursery and the only nursery area for Nassau grouper; archaeological digs found Lucayan/Taino villages here, and ruins of an abandoned settlement remain. It is on the exposed southeast side, so reach it by road; explore quietly by kayak or paddleboard on a rising tide, with no fishing and no wake. Position is the OSM label for Pigeon Creek.
Best for
Kayaking a mangrove nursery
