Eat· Long Island· Bahamas — Eleuthera, Andros & the Out Islands
Long Island Breeze Resort (Thompson Bay)
23° 20.9′ N · 75° 7.6′ W · approximate
The former cruiser-friendly resort, bar and dinghy dock on Thompson Bay near the Salt Pond government dock. Older guides and charts still show it as a landing.
Practical
ActiveCaptain reviewers reported in January 2015 that Long Island Breeze had announced its closure, and that its dock was no longer available. No later source shows it reopened, so do not count on it. Use Basil's dinghy dock, the cultural centre beach or Tiny's instead. Position is approximate, placed between Hillside Grocery and the government dock as cruisers described it. The Bahamas Cruisers Guide (updated March 2019) adds that it was badly damaged by Hurricane Joaquin in 2015 and remains closed; its old laundry and cruiser gatherings are gone. No current source confirms a cruiser happy hour there.
