Hog Cay South Anchorage
23° 35.6′ N · 75° 20.5′ W
A shallow tuck around the south end of Hog Cay that cruisers use to get out of a north-north-west wind.
Practical
ActiveCaptain: approach from the west; good holding in sand about 100 yards off the bank; one crew set in 5 ft at low tide with no coral heads (dark weed patches look worse than they are). Only for shallow-draft boats. Some swell; not suitable in a westerly. Private houses ashore.
Best for
Shallow-draft shelter from a NNW breeze
Season
Short stays in NNW; open W
