Hatchet Bay North Anchorage
25° 21.0′ N · 76° 29.6′ W
The quieter north arm of Hatchet Bay, away from the government dock and the sea wall, with sand-and-mud holding and the same all-round shelter.
Practical
Position from the ActiveCaptain 'Hatchet Bay North' marker. Clear the entrance and head north-east until you are in about 12 ft, then anchor in sand and mud (ActiveCaptain). A 2019 cruiser rode out a north-easterly of 25 kn gusting into the forties here without dragging. Old mooring balls in very poor condition (some washed up on the beach in 2019 reports); do not trust them. Watch for the derelict mooring block hazard close by (ActiveCaptain, 25.3499, -76.4953).
Best for
More room and less industry than the south side of the bay
