Cathedral Cave
24° 51.2′ N · 76° 9.4′ W
A small single-chamber limestone cave just south of Rock Sound, where tree roots hang to the floor and sunlight streams through holes in the roof like a church.
Practical
Position from ShowCaves (24 deg 51' 11.3" N, 76 deg 09' 24.9" W). Park at the African Methodist church and cross the road; a rock-lined trail runs along the south side of the blue hole (Boiling Hole). Free, no set hours (2020 data); no torch needed on a sunny day. Expect bats, big spiders near the entrance and possibly a Bahamian boa; some stair steps are missing (Fetchin' Ketch 2022, Adiona Adventures). About a six-mile round trip on foot from the anchorage with the Ocean Hole; Wikivoyage notes a 'Bahamas Heritage' sign and a nearby turtle pond.
Best for
A shady cave walk from the Rock Sound anchorage
