Shark Wall and Shark Arena (Stuart Cove's shark dives)

24° 57.9′ N · 77° 30.3′ W · approximate

Nassau's famous Caribbean reef shark sites off the south-west coast: a free swim along Shark Wall with the sharks following, then a kneeling feed in the Arena as 5-6 ft reef sharks circle within arm's length.

Practical

Coordinate approximate: placed on the Tongue of the Ocean edge south-west of Stuart Cove's base, where Stuart Cove's describes its shark sites; not a surveyed site. Stuart Cove's dives four shark sites in pairs: Shark Wall plus The Arena, or Shark Wall North plus The Runway. Dive 1 is a free swim along the wall with no bait exposed; dive 2 has divers kneeling in a semicircle on sand while a feeder uses a bait box and pole spear; no touching. Requirements: certified, 12+, a logged dive in the last 3 years (or a refresher), under-18s with a parent, full-length wetsuit. Schedule: Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat afternoons (docks 1 pm, back about 5:30 pm); Sun, Tue and Thu mornings (docks 10 am, back about 1:30 pm). Listed price $242.40 per person (USD, no revision date; verify), $10 off online; non-diving 'bubble watcher' about $68-81.60. Stuart Cove's does not publish depths for these sites; its wall dives start at 40-60 ft and the feed is on a sand bottom. The Edwin Williams cutter wreck (60 ft) lies out by Shark Wall.
