Sans Souci Anchorage
25° 3.3′ N · 77° 16.6′ W
An open-water anchorage off the Sans Souci shore on New Providence's east end, south of Fort Montagu, used as a quiet alternative to the harbour in light winds.
Practical
Waterway Guide (reviewer) position N 25°03.260' W 077°16.605'; about 10 ft. Good holding in sand, but scout for a clean patch. Reviewer stayed two nights in light winds with no roll. About a 20-minute dinghy ride to the east end of Nassau Harbour. Depths about a foot less than Navionics shows: a 7 ft draft boat found 9 ft at low tide. ActiveCaptain (pin 25.05389, -77.27903): a beautiful overnight for small to mid-size boats with Eastern Road homes to the south and Athol Island to the north; approach with caution among coral reefs and shallows; dinghy to beaches on New Providence, Paradise Island or Athol Island.
Best for
Light-air overnight away from harbour wakes
