Ocean Beach and Bita Bay reefs (Green Turtle snorkel)

26° 47.2′ N · 77° 19.7′ W · approximate

Green Turtle Cay's barrier reef runs close to its Atlantic beaches: snorkel straight off Ocean Beach at the north end, or the two shallow patch reefs in Bita Bay that are ideal for novices at low tide.

Practical

Approximate position just off Ocean Beach, from the OpenStreetMap coastline; Bita Bay reefs are about 2.5 km further south off the east shore. Shore entry only in settled weather with the Atlantic swell down. Yacht Warriors also notes good snorkelling reefs north of No Name Cay and south of Green Turtle Cay. Specific reef names such as 'Coral Gardens' or 'Turtle Rocks' could not be confirmed — ask Brendal's for the day's best site.
