The Lucaya port of entry: Customs and Immigration officers clear yachts at Grand Bahama Yacht Club, and cruisers on noforeignland report a quick, friendly process.

Practical

Position is the GBYC fuel dock (OpenStreetMap); the office is at the marina. Procedure from GBYC: fly the Q flag, go straight to the port of entry, notify the marina on VHF 16, keep crew aboard until cleared, only the captain goes ashore, then lower the Q flag and hoist the Bahamian courtesy flag. Click2Clear must be filed before arrival but does not replace in-person clearance. Foreign pleasure vessels over 50 ft must run AIS. Declare all firearms and ammunition with serial numbers; pets need an import permit. 2026 entry fees: up to 34 ft $150 (3 months) / $300 (12 months); 35-99 ft $300 / $600; 100-149 ft $500 / $1,000; includes cruising permit, tax for up to three people and a re-entry within 90 days. A noforeignland reviewer reports receiving 180-day visas.
