The abandoned DECCA radio-navigation station on Pipe Cay — concrete foundations, rusted gear and a hilltop that opens onto a 360-degree view over the whole of Pipe Creek.
Practical
Dinghy in from the Pipe Creek anchorages and land on the beach below; the track up is short but overgrown and rocky, so wear real shoes. Structures are derelict — watch for rebar and rotten decking. Pipe Creek runs strong tidal current; time the dinghy trip near slack.
