College Fjord and Harvard Glacier (Prince William Sound)
61° 14.7′ N · 147° 44.7′ W · approximate
A long fjord whose glaciers are named for colleges, with Harvard and Yale the largest tidewater glaciers. Harvard fills the head of the fjord, and Wellesley ends in a lagoon on the west side.
Practical
Position is an open-water waypoint near the head, not the ice. A guidebook states that Harvard is among the few Alaska tidewater glaciers still advancing while most others in the fjord retreat (check current ice). No park distance rule was found for College Fjord (unconfirmed); keep well clear of the ice and mind marine mammal rules. This is a long run from Whittier for a small boat, and I did not find an anchorage in the sources, so plan as a day trip.
