White Island Snorkel

12° 26.1′ N · 61° 28.9′ W

A tiny cay off Carriacou's south-west tip, with a white-sand beach on its lee side and coral reef around it. A classic dinghy or day-boat snorkel from Tyrrel Bay.

Practical

Coordinate is the OpenStreetMap islet centroid. Noforeignland reviewers (2026): anchoring in sand patches with a white-sand beach and some waves, but conditions changed after an earlier hurricane, with fewer corals and fish than before. Expect current between White and Saline islands (Dive Carriacou's 'Saline Express' drift runs this way). Go in calm weather and good light, watch for coral heads, and anchor the dinghy on sand only.

Best for

A beach-and-reef afternoon from Tyrrel Bay

Season

Calm days; current strongest at spring tides
