Tyrell Bay Marina and Boatyard (150-ton Travelift)

12° 27.7′ N · 61° 29.1′ W

The big, newer yard at the north end of Tyrrel Bay, built around a 150-ton Travelift, with hard standing for some 200 boats, a concrete floating marina and an on-site Budget Marine store.

Practical

Coordinate is the OpenStreetMap 'Tyrell Bay Marina Carriacou' node. Opened in late 2018 (Budget Marine). Lift capacity is consistently 150 tons; limits quoted differ: 30 ft beam and 18 ft depth in the lift bay (Superyacht Services Guide), 32 ft beam and 100 ft LOA (Noonsite), up to 130 ft LOA (Budget Marine 2019). Also a 30-ton shore crane for engines and masts, a 50-ton trailer and stackers. Marina: about 2,000 ft of alongside dockage, 16-18 ft at the slips (SSG). Owners may work on their own boats and live aboard on the hard. Reviews are mixed: noforeignland reviewers (2026) report that the floating dinghy dock is limited to yard customers, that the marina looks unfinished, and that water and power hook-ups were lacking, and they raise concerns about yard organisation; one listing quotes a 100-ton lift. Call ahead and confirm rates and services. A good dinghy landing for Alexis Food Store, which is next door.
