The Original Slipway Restaurant (Tyrrel Bay)
12° 27.2′ N · 61° 29.2′ W
A restaurant built into an old boatyard at the south end of Tyrrel Bay, with the slipway machinery still in place as part of the décor. It has its own dinghy dock and a small daily chalkboard menu of fresh seafood and meat.
Practical
Coordinate is the OpenStreetMap 'The Original Slipway' node (the carriacou.biz pin is within 20 m). Carriacou.biz: at the far end of the beach next to the boatyard (Carriacou Marine). The chalkboard menu changes daily with local ingredients and always includes a seafood dish; vegetarian dishes are available on request when you book. A dinghy dock just outside lets you tie up while you eat. By road, take the Hermitage road and look for the sign on a sharp bend. Reservations recommended (carriacou.biz suggests booking for special requests). Carriacou.biz warns that most of its listings predate Hurricane Beryl (July 2024), which damaged or destroyed about 95% of structures on Carriacou and Petite Martinique, so confirm it is open before you go.
Best for
A dinner ashore with the dinghy tied up outside
