13° 10.8′ N · 59° 38.5′ W · approximate
A 365-ft Greek freighter scuttled in 1978 as an artificial reef off Fitts Village and Holetown, with masts a few metres under the surface and every inch of the hull furred with corals, sponges and gorgonians. It is regularly listed among the world's top wreck dives.
Practical
Position is the OpenStreetMap wreck seamark (rounded; approx). Visit Barbados (Hightide Watersports): sits on a slope with the prop at 135 ft and the deck from 75 ft (bow) to 100 ft (stern). Scubaverse (2022) says the masts are a few metres below the surface, with the ascent along the A-frame through the most life-covered section. She was badly burnt in a fire off Barbados in 1976 and sunk deliberately in November 1978 inside the Folkestone Marine Reserve, less than half a mile offshore. Deep parts are for advanced divers; go with a local operator because current can run. Green turtles are often seen on turtle tours here. Barbados has a 24/7 hyperbaric chamber run by the Barbados Defence Force.
