12° 2.8′ N · 61° 44.9′ W · approximate
The Spice Island Billfish Tournament is one of the Caribbean's biggest and oldest sport-fishing events, held each January out of St George's for blue marlin, white marlin and sailfish, with tuna, mahi-mahi and wahoo for extra points.
Practical
Position is nominal at the Grenada Yacht Club in the Lagoon, the tournament's traditional base (Southern Boating, 2018). The 50th edition ran January 21–26 (2018/2019 coverage). The 2026 edition drew 38 boats and 214 anglers from Trinidad and Tobago, Martinique, Barbados, St Lucia, the US and the UK, and finished with an awards ceremony at the end of January (NOW Grenada, February 2026). Visiting boats and anglers are welcome; arrive early to find a boat. Expect the Lagoon and Port Louis to be busy with sport-fishing boats that week. Dates and entry: sibt.gd.
