Paradise Beach Moorings (L'Esterre)

12° 28.5′ N · 61° 29.1′ W · approximate

Moorings and sand patches in L'Esterre Bay off Paradise Beach, calmer than Sandy Island and a short dinghy ride from both the beach bars and the Sandy Island reef.

Practical

Coordinate is about 300 m off Paradise Beach inside L'Esterre Bay, derived from the OpenStreetMap bay polygon (approx). Noforeignland reviewers (2026) say holding is comfortable but warn that some moorings sit in limited depth, so deep-draft boats should check the depth under the keel. Weekend music ashore can be loud. A 2017 report found the easternmost mooring's sand screw loose and lying on its side, so snorkel any ball before trusting it. A 2016 cruiser anchored next to the moorings, but the bay is inside the MPA, so ask the rangers whether anchoring is currently allowed and pay any mooring fee they collect. A charted wreck lies in the bay at about 12.4788 N, 61.4743 W (OpenStreetMap seamark). Lauriston airstrip is just inland, so expect small-plane noise.
