Indian Bay Snorkel (Dike and Dove Islands)

13° 8.1′ N · 61° 12.5′ W · approximate

The white-sand bay just west of Villa, with rocky edges and two small islets off the point at the western entrance to Young Island Cut, makes an easy beach-entry snorkel.

Practical

Coordinate is derived (approx): about 150 m off the OpenStreetMap 'Indian Bay Beach' polygon. The National Parks authority says Indian Bay and Villa beaches both offer good snorkelling and swimming, are separated by a small hilly point and are reachable by land and sea. The best snorkelling is along the rocky sides of the bay and toward Dike and Dove Islands; the open middle is sand. Land the dinghy on the beach or walk over from Villa. Beach facilities (restroom, shower, gazebo; open 9am to 5pm): non-nationals US$2 restroom, US$3 shower (National Parks site, undated; verify locally). Watch for swell wrapping round the point and for local boat traffic off the beach.
