Gorges de la Falaise

14° 49.2′ N · 61° 7.9′ W

Small rainforest gorges on the Falaise river on the northeast flank of Pelée at L'Ajoupa-Bouillon, which you walk up through the river itself, with the Saut Babin waterfall nearby.

Practical

French Wikipedia: mini-gorges of the Rivière Falaise that can be walked upstream, with the Saut Babin waterfall in the gorges. Position from OSM (waterfall node). L'Ajoupa-Bouillon is 39 km from Fort-de-France by the Route de la Trace (RN3). From Saint-Pierre, drive via Morne-Rouge. Expect to wade, so wear shoes that can get wet. Do not go after heavy rain: flash floods are a risk in steep gorges. Check access and any fee locally.
